For cat and dog breeders

Get found by Google. Make sense to ChatGPT.

Breeder Web Studio is a one person studio that builds and runs websites for cat and dog breeders across the United States. We rebuild the site your buyers judge you by, then keep it current.

What does AI say about your cattery?

There's no account to make. We read your live site and show you what we find.

The line naming the registrations, the year and the town, and the bar saying whether there are kittens available, are the parts a search engine and ChatGPT can read.

Why it matters

A lot of buyers ask ChatGPT now.

They type something like “who breeds ragdolls in Oregon” and get back two or three names. If yours isn't one of them, nobody tells you.

ChatGPT will only name a cattery it can make sense of. It needs three things from your pages:

  • Your breed and your town in plain words, not sitting inside a photograph
  • A real person's name
  • A kittens page that looks current

Most of the sites we read miss all three, and none of it is hard to fix. That's most of our work. The rest is keeping the parts that change easy to update between litters.

If you want to know how yours reads, the free check reads your live pages and tells you what's missing. The twenty-three breeder sites we read were missing the same few pages, and the whole list is here.

Try it

One edit. The whole site follows.

Add a kitten and watch the cards, the count, the banner and the machine-readable facts move together. It's the real editor that comes with every build, running in your browser with made-up kittens in it. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is kept.

The Lapdolls Ragdoll Cattery home page. A photograph of a Ragdoll kitten on a woven basket beside red winter berries sits next to the heading Home-raised Ragdoll kittens with heart and heritage, with a bar across the top saying Ragdoll kittens available now.

Twenty-two pages came off Wix without losing a single old link, and the availability engine above has run the kitten listings ever since. A litter goes up from a phone and the site rebuilds itself in about a minute.

  • 9 core pages, 6 landing pages written for the searches breeders get, 7 articles
  • Every old Wix address points at its new page, so nothing the old site had earned was lost
  • One change to a kitten updates 15 pages, the banner and the machine-readable facts together
  • Photographs and text changed from a phone, live on the site a minute later
  • The behind-the-scenes facts ChatGPT reads: the cattery, the hours, the town, the breed and every kitten
The Exotic Stars Cattery home page. A large photograph of a cream Persian kitten sits beside the heading Persian kittens raised in our home, with the town and the price range in the first paragraph.

Exotic Stars Persian Cattery

A Persian cattery, rebuilt off Webflow.

Rebuilt from the ground up, with a page for each thing a buyer searches for, and the things the old site never said are now written down.

  • A page for each thing a buyer searches for, instead of everything on one page
  • Price, the waitlist and health testing written out, where the old site said nothing
  • The behind-the-scenes facts about the cattery, the town and the kittens available, set up so ChatGPT and Google can read them
  • Every old web address points at its new page, so nothing the old site had earned was lost

Who you would be dealing with

I'm Mark Truderung. I breed cats and run my own cattery, so when a page stops pulling inquiries I find out the slow way, from a quiet inbox in the middle of a litter. Most of what I fix on other people's sites I've already had to fix on mine. More about how this started.

Questions

Questions we get asked first

What does a breeder website cost?

Three builds: $2,200, $3,400 and $4,800. Every build comes with a care plan, which is $150, $250 or $350 a month and has a six month minimum. Every price is on the packages page, and nobody is quoted a different price. The one discount is for referrals, and it's published there too.

Do I own the site afterwards?

Yes. Cancel after the six months and the whole site and your web address transfer to you at no charge.

Do you build for dog breeders as well as catteries?

Both. The work is nearly the same either way. What changes is the registries, the health testing and the words buyers type.

How long does it take?

Up to two weeks from the first call to launch, whichever build you choose, and the first two days are mostly you sending us what you already have. The whole timetable is written out.

Can I just check my current site first?

Yes, and it's free with nothing to sign up for. The site check reads your live pages and lists what's missing. No score out of ten, because the same site doesn't score the same way twice.

Ask ChatGPT for a breeder in your state. See who it names.

Tell us what your site does now and what it won't do. We answer every message either way, usually within two working days.
